The Arnosky Kids
"Because farming is a family business!"
We mean it when we say we are a family farm. We believe that raising our kids in a farm environment is the best thing we can do. We home school our kids, and they help with everything on the farm. We believe they are learning valuable lessons about motivation, and about how you can accomplish anything you want to if you put your heart into it.
Along with helping on the farm, they raise poultry, rabbits, milk goats, and horses. Their days are always full, but we make sure they get rewards too. They spend a month each summer at camp in Colorado, and we believe it is essential that we travel internationally with them once a year to some incredible place. This year it was Copper Canyon, Mexico, and in years past we have been to the jungles of Costa Rica and snorkeling in Oaxaca.
Scroll down and meet our kids!

Janos is 12 this year, and helps his father in the greenhouse side of the business. He raises chickens and loves to go fishing
Elena is the youngest, 11 years old, born on an Easter morning! She has a knack for arranging flowers, and already says she wants a design business!
Derrick is the oldest, 17 years old. He’s an Eagle Scout, and will be heading to college soon. He’s hoping to get into an Ivy League school (We’re hoping he gets good scholarships!!)
This past year, Derrick graduated as valedictorian, finished Eagle Scouts, worked on the farm for a month, did volunteer trail work with the Student Conservation Association for a month ( www.thesca.org ) in Guadalupe Mountains NP, and toured Europe visiting friends for a month.
This year, Derrick is studying international affairs at George Washington University.
Hannah Rose is our actress. 14 years old, she starred in the Christmas play AHMAL and the Night Visitors in San Marcos, Texas. She sang the lead role! Hannah has 2 horses.
Hannah is artistic, and sensible and responsible at the same time; she is now a 9th grader.
The three kids who are home will all be helping at the Austin Farmers Market, Downtown, and at the Westlake Farmers Market. They will all have their projects--miniature bouquets made by the girls, origami cranes made by Janos.
